Ideally located, at the foot of the old town in the heart of the city, the port of Cannes offers 800 mooring areas among them 250 are exclusively dedicated to short stay-in. The port is only at 16 miles from the port of Nice, 22 from the port of Monaco and 24 from the port of Saint-Tropez. While berthing to the port of Cannes, you can admire on one side, the Suquet, the oldest part of the city, and on the other side the famous sea front boulevard “La Croisette” with the luxury hotels and boutiques. A visit to the Suquet is not to be missed, accessible from various sides by taking steep narrow streets which lead to the ramparts, the Musée de la Castre, the Square Tower and the church. From the top, the Suquet offers a magnificent panorama on the bay of Cannes, the Lérins islands, the Croisette and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès so famous thanks to its International Film Festival, its walk up the steps with the red carpet, and handprints of the Stars on the esplanade. Going down from Le Suquet, enjoy the atmosphere of the “Provençal” Forville market full of colours and typical scents, before reaching the modern town, the Croisette with its luxury hotels and legendary beaches of sand, the rue d’Antibes where Haute couture , jewellery, leather goods, and beauty salons stores follow on one after another. Opposite the bay of Cannes, only 15 minutes from the port, you reach the two islands of Lérins, Sainte-Marguerite dominated by the Royal Fort, converted into a state prison in 1685 for holding the most mysterious of prisoners, the Man with the Iron Mask, for 11 years. The Musée de la mer located inside the fort offers an important collection of archaeological finds. Saint-Honorat, real haven of peace, is the site of a monastery from the beginning of the fifth century, where a community of around 40 Cistercians monks produce wine and a liqueur from an ancient blend of 44 herbs.
